The Bacolod city government officially began the operation of the Governance and Grassroots Services for Barangays (G-SERVE) initiative.
The program aims to make government services more accessible to residents by launching and improving community-based projects in several key areas, including sports development, food production, livelihood programs, and cleanliness initiatives.
One of their projects together with the City Engineers Office, includes the replacing of 190 broken artesian well heads across 14 barangays in Bacolod.
According to Executive Assistant Ayesha Joy Villaflor, the program serves as a link between the city government and the barangays.
The program responds to community requests, offers technical and administrative support, and ensures that city programs reach the grassroots level.
“The damaged water pumps with broken heads were replaced with new ones through the City Engineer’s Office,” Villaflor said.
Another initiative under the program is the house-to-house deliveries of the Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP) cards.
It includes the 7,978 BacCHP cards left undistributed by the previous administration.
The program operates under Executive Order No. 010, which directs the Public Affairs and Assistance Division to provide direct support and services to all barangays and communities in Bacolod City.*
