Bacolod market vendors briefed on gov’t assistance programs

The City Government of Bacolod conducted a market vendors orientation at Burgos Public Market to inform vendors about the various assistance programs available to residents, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.

Led by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, the event was joined by Sectoral Affairs Office head Carmeli Zayco, Special Assistant to the Mayor and BacCHP Focal Person Engr. Mae Cuaycong, and Councilors Kalaw Puentevella and Celia Flor.

The orientation highlighted key programs, including the Bacolod City Comprehensive Health Program (BacCHP), Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), Bayad Agad, Burial Assistance, and Medical Assistance, among others. Vendors were guided on how to access these benefits and maximize the city’s support services.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was also introduced, providing Bacolodnons with opportunities to enroll in skills training programs with assistance from the Sectoral Affairs Office.

Benitez personally engaged with the vendors, listening to their concerns and discussing ways to improve their livelihood and access to government support.

The orientation will be conducted in the city’s three major public markets, Burgos Market, Central Market on March 5 and Libertad Market on March 6.*
