It appears that there is still no definite date for the 2023 mass wedding in Bacolod City, after it was postponed for the third time.
The event which targets to wed 2,023 couples, had been earlier scheduled for February 14, but later moved to March 3, after the target number of couples was not reached.
However, as of yesterday, the number of couples who have registered with the Office of the Civil Registrar, has reached 2,052, which exceeds the target of the Benitez administration.
Hermilo Pauyon, head of the Office of the Civil Registrar, said the city has stopped receiving applications from couples who seek to join this year’s mass wedding.
The final schedule of the mass wedding will be determined by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.*
