Bacolod mayor delivers P1M aid to La Castellana

Mayor Albee Benitez personally brought worth P1 million food and non-food relief assistance from the City Government of Bacolod to the victims of Kanlaon Volcano eruption in La Castellana, Negros Occidental through Mayor Rhummyla Nicor-Mangilimutan. According to a press release, he was also joined by his son, Victorias Mayor Javi Benitez.

The relief assistance consisted of rice, canned goods such as corned beef, beef loaf, sardines, hygiene kit sets, blankets, bath towels and mosquito nets, water containers, and 26,000 liters of domestic water.

According to the press release, Benitez delivered the assistance to let fellow Negrosanons know that in these trying times, they can rely on their Bacolodnons brothers and sisters, and will always be there ready to help them. He also wanted to personally assess the situation and see for himself the extent of damage, and what kind of help that Bacolod City can still extend to the victims of the Kanlaon Volcano eruption.

Benitez personally drove his car in going to La Castellana, with his son, Sum-ag Brgy Capt. Rodney Carmona, Brgy 12 Capt. JR Alcantara, Brgy. Singcang-Airport Kagawad Rosinie Distrito, and DRRMO head, Dr. Anna Pornan.*
