Bacolod monitors ‘rugby boys’; caught on video

• THERESA MAE DULMAN

The Bacolod Anti-Mendicancy and Management Division (BMMD) is closely monitoring three minors recently filmed loitering along Lacson Street, Bacolod City.

BMMD focal person Anjanette Servano said that those children were among the 15 alleged ‘rugby boys’ rescued from the public plaza in 2025 and previously returned to their families.

She said that the three, who were already identified, were accompanied by an adult, who threw rocks at the public.

Servano said they will coordinate with the barangay to return the minors to their families.

The office is also set to assess whether the parents have the capacity to properly support and supervise the children.

If the families are found unable to provide adequate care, officials are considering placing the minors in a facility.*
