Bacolod City has been selected as a key destination for the Visayas leg of the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow MSME Workshop, a collaborative initiative between Shopee Philippines and the local government unit aimed at digitalizing local businesses.
The one-day training session is scheduled to take place today, involving at least 70 Bacolodnon Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Shopee Philippines Head of Commercial Jack Ng said that the program provides localized training sessions co-developed with LGUs to help Filipino entrepreneurs transition into the e-commerce space.
“We are focused more on delivering real value and what sellers really need, which is practical skills, visibility, the right tools, and support. We worked closely with the local governments to reach more sellers in communities and make sure support is made available in where it is needed the most,” Ng said.
The workshop is designed to equip small business owners with the tools to display and sell their homegrown products on the Shopee platform, expanding their reach to a nationwide audience.
Following the completion of the training, participating businesses can expect their products to be live on the Shopee app within seven to ten days.
To qualify for the program, interested entrepreneurs are required to present their DTI Permit and Certificate of Registration.
For those unable to attend the physical workshop but interested in selling on the platform, Shopee offers free webinars and step-by-step guides on creating a seller’s account through the Shopee Seller Education Hub.*
