The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will begin the strict enforcement of City Ordinance No. 08-15-729 next week to clear the Bacolod Public Plaza of illegal dispatchers and barkers.
BCPO Officer-in-Charge PCol. Eugene Rebadomia announced the move as a core component of the Safer Cities Initiative following numerous complaints regarding barkers who prevent motorists from parking and create a public eyesore.
Authorities have identified over 20 individuals operating around the plaza, prompting the full activation of the Tourist Police to maintain order in the area.
The BCPO will coordinate closely with the Bacolod Traffic and Transport Management Department (BTTMD) to ensure the ordinance is fully implemented and not merely planned.
Rebadomia confirmed that they will augment PNP personnel to provide necessary backup during the operations.
This crackdown aims to clean up the plaza premises and provide a safer, more organized environment for residents and tourists alike.*
