Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez issued an executive order yesterday recalling all PWD ID cards issued in Bacolod City.
Benitez, however, said he has not issued a recall order for senior citizen’s ID cards, since the city has a QR Code in place. In the case of PWD IDs, there is none. So they are recalling all PWD IDs effective immediately.
They are now in the process of issuing new PWD ID cards to qualified beneficiaries. For the meantime, they will be creating a special window at the Bacolod City Government Center for those who would like to secure a temporary PWD document with QR Code, he said.
While they are in the process of issuing new PWD ID cards, business establishments should not accept PWD IDs because they have no basis to validate if the PWD card is legitimate or not, Benitez said.*
