Bacolod reaps awards at WV Pagdayaw 2025

The Bacolod City Tourism Office, under the city government of Bacolod led by Mayor Greg Gasataya, received multiple recognitions during the Pagdáyaw 2025: Western Visayas Tourism Awards held on March 5 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

According to a press release, the awards highlight Bacolod City’s strong tourism performance and its continued commitment to strengthening tourism programs, industry partnerships, and visitor services in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Region VI headed by DOT Regional Director Crisanta Marlene “Krisma” Rodriguez.

Among the recognitions received by the city were: Top Contributing Local Government Unit in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Reporting; Tourism Mover Award, recognizing the successful tourism development programs implemented in calendar year 2024 and Bacolod City’s commitment to improving communities through a vibrant tourism industry; Top Contributing Local Government Unit in Overnight Visitor Arrivals; and Highest Number of DOT-Accredited Establishments in 2024.

In addition, Bacolod City was also recognized as an official nominee for Outstanding Governance in Accreditation Implementation and Sustainability Award under the City Category, and Top MICE Destination Award.

Representing the Bacolod City Tourism Office, the awards were received by Ma. Teresa Manalili, Chief Tourism Operations Officer; Meneil Lopez-Poquiz, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer; Liana Reynes, Tourism Operations Officer II; and Darlwin Sales, Tourism Operations Officer I.

Aside from the recognition given to the City Government of Bacolod, several tourism partners in the city were also honored during the ceremony.

Under the Outstanding Partner Institution of the Department of Tourism – Region VI (Tourism Industry Skills Program) category, L’Fisher Hotel, Bacolod and STI West Negros University were recognized.

Meanwhile, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod; Sugarland Hotel, Bacolod; and Go Hotels Bacolod were recognized as Model DOT-Accredited Accommodation Establishments for Excellence in Overnight Visitor Arrival Recording, Reporting Completeness, and Tourism Contribution.*
