The financial assistance payout for victims of Typhoon Tino began yesterday, with the distribution scheduled at the Bacolod City National High School Activity Center, Bacolod City College Gym, and Villamonte Gym.
Mayor Greg Gasataya assured that the Department of Social Services and Development was ready to address any concerns from the barangays during the distribution.
The mayor said that Bacolod City is among the first to receive the payout from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The DSSD had validated the masterlist of beneficiaries due to a series of duplications.
Gasataya also reminded the government employees to ensure that the documents they are signing are not falsified.
The distribution followed a coordination meeting led by Gasataya, DSSD Head Dr. Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga, City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo, and various barangay officials.
A total of P114.9 million of cash assistance was allocated by the DSWD to the city.
The initial phase of the payout covers Barangay 1-41 and Barangays Alangilan up to Felisa.*
