Lorenzo Magsipoc, the adviser of Ang Tanglaw campus publication of Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS), was recognized as the 2026 Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser, representing the Negros Island Region (NIR).
The honor was conferred during the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held from April 13 to 17, in Ormoc City, Leyte.
Magsipoc attributed the recognition to the collective effort of his students and peers, noting that the award reflects the perseverance and trust of those who supported the publication.
The achievement comes as the NIR delegation showcased a strong showing across several group categories during the national competition.
BCNHS also extended its participation beyond the individual adviser award, representing the region in the TV Broadcasting (Filipino) secondary category.
The various placements across both elementary and secondary levels highlight the current standing of the Negros Island Region in the national campus journalism circuit.
In the Elementary Division, Al Jayme Elementary School from Bacolod City represented the region in both the English and Filipino categories of Collaborative Desktop Publishing.
In the Radio Broadcasting (Filipino) category, NIR was represented by Silay South Elementary School and the University of St. La Salle.*
