The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and the City Legal Office (CLO) have shut down six business establishments in Bacolod City for operating without valid business permits.
The closures, which took place on Friday, are part of a city-wide crackdown on non-compliant businesses.
According to BPLO head Stela Rose Rayos, they were found in violation of Section 65, Article 20 of City Ordinance No. 565, which is the Revised Revenue Code of Bacolod City.
The establishments ordered closed were a department store, a pastry shop, a salon, a dressed chicken plant, and two boarding houses located in the Barangays of 31, 17, 15, and 13.
Rayos noted that prior to the closure, the businesses had already been issued notices of violation.
“Upon issuance of the second Notice of Violation and Closure, firms must voluntarily suspend operation and comply with the requirements within 15 days, pending the issuance of the Mayor’s Permit,” Rayos explained.
The BPLO and CLO warned the owners and representatives that they face additional sanctions if they resume operations without first securing the necessary permits.
The city’s enforcement teams are scheduled to continue their operations against other non-compliant businesses this week, with a total of 43 establishments recommended for closure.*
