The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Bacolod City has been recognized as the regional winner for the Most Outstanding Local Legislative Unit at the Local Legislative Awards, held at the JPark Resort, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Vice Mayor Claudio Puentevella led the delegation of the city, accompanied by Councilors Em Ang, Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Bobby Rojas, Celia Flor, and Homer Bais, along with the SP secretariat staff.
Puentevella said that the award recognized the SP’s efforts in passing various initiatives related to environment, economic means, and health programs such as the Bacolod Comprehensive Program.
Ang said that the prestigious Local Legislative Awards program is designed to recognize exemplary local legislative bodies based on their performance in enacting laws and resolutions that contribute significantly to local governance and development.
Evaluation criteria focus on factors such as the effectiveness and efficiency of the legislative agenda and the availability of legislative documents.
The councilor said it aims to institutionalize a system that honors high-performing local legislative bodies.
The award was given by the Department of Interior and Local Government.*
