A resolution congratulating the Bacolod City Planning and Development Coordinator and Department head, Mary Jean Ramos, for being awarded the Energy Efficiency Excellence (EEE) Award on Government (special awards category) during the 5th Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards hosted by the Department of Energy at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Taguig City on December 17, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday.
Authored by Councilor Caesar Distrito, the resolution said the Department of Energy (DEO) led by Secretary Sharon Garin, recognizes exemplary leaders who champion the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation measures across the Philippines through the Energy Efficiency Excellence (EEE) Awards.
The EEE Awards is the highest recognition given by the Department of Energy (DOE) to honor public and private institutions, as well as individual practitioners, who demonstrate exceptional commitment to energy management, it said.
Early this year, Mary Jean Ramos, was elected as the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Officer (NEECO), a position that is responsible in integrating all Local Energy Efficiency and Conservation Plans (LEECPs) from the different local government units (LGUs) and will advance the energy efficiency and conservation program of this country, promote sustainable practices in the LGUs, and support policies that advance the nation’s initiatives align with the objectives of the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Office, the resolution said.
Due to her unwavering passion and commitment to her role as the NEECO, Ramos was honored with a national award during the 5th Energy Efficiency Excellence Awards at the Grand Hyatt Manila, Taguig City last Dec. 17.*
