The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod extended its deepest sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family of Fire Officer 2 Vincent Jan Batabat of the Bacolod Bureau of Fire Protection on his untimely passing last August 11.
The resolution authored by Councilor Psyche Marie Sy, chair of the SP Committee on Fire, Social Defense, and Natural Disasters, said FO2 Vincent Jan Batabat was a hardworking personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFO) Special Rescue Force – Negros Occidental for about 37 years.
Last August 10, at around 10 p.m., FO2 Batabat succumbed to cardiac arrest, which led to his demise the following day at the Riverside Medical Center, it said.
The BFP lost a dedicated firefighter and a true hero, who served with courage and commitment, with his untimely passing. He was a valuable public servant who had left a lasting legacy in the City of Bacolod and the Province of Negros Occidental, the resolution said.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod acknowledges the BFP’s operational efforts and the daily demands of the call of duty for the protection of the city’s constituents, it added.
Meanwhile, the Sangguninag Panlungsod also extended its condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family of former barangay kagawad Jessie Bantigue of Barangay Banago who joined his Creator on August 6.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said former kagawad Jessie Bantgue was elected barangay kagawad of Brgy. 8 from 1994 to 1997 and barangay kagawad of Banago from 2010 to 2023.
It is fitting to extend proper tribute and honor to the selfless and dedicated public service extended by former barangay kagawad Jessie Bantigue to the people of Barangay Banago and to thank him for his invaluable help in promoting the welfare of the community for almost 17 years in public service, it said.*
