A resolution congratulating the Bacolod City Nutrition Committee for being awarded The Green Banner Seal of Compliance for 2022 for the City’s Nutrition Program during The 2023 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) in Iloilo City on November 28, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod on Wednesday.
The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET), last July 24 to 25, 2022, evaluated the City Nutrition Program through the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol on the following dimensions: Bacolod City Nutrition Committee Vision and Mission, Adoption Of Nutrition Laws And Policies, Governance And Organizational Structure, Local Nutrition Committee Management Functions, Nutrition Interventions/Services and the Nutritional Status in the LGU. And thus, having scored above average in the recently concluded MELLPI Pro.
The Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) is an annual event held by the National Nutrition Council Regional Office VI to recognize the exemplary efforts in implementing the nutrition programs of the LGUs and Local Nutrition Focal Points across Western Visayas, it said.
The City Government of Bacolod through its City Nutrition Committee has been conferred and awarded by the Executive Director IV Dr. Azucena Dayanghirang, MCH, CESO III of the National Nutrition Council, the Green Banner Seal of Compliance for 2022 for its City’s Nutrition Program scoring above average during the 2023 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) held in Iloilo City last November 28, the resolution said.
“We extend our esteemed recognition and thanks to all the members of our City Nutrition Committee for spearheading the city’s programs to combat and completely eradicate instances of malnutrition especially among children in the City of Bacolod,” it added.*
