A resolution congratulating Ethan Jervy Dayne Chavez for winning a bronze medal in the recently concluded Asian Cadet Taekwondo Championships in Vietnam on August 24, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.
The resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang said the Asian Taekwondo Union together with World Taekwondo Federation organized the Asian Cadet Taekwondo Championships 2022 in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on August 22 to 27.
Ethan Jervy Dayne Chavez participated in the under 49 kilograms category of the said competition along with 15 other participants from different countries across the Asian region, it said.
The above-mentioned taekwondo jin won the bronze medal of the aforesaid tournament only losing to the eventual gold medalist, the resolution said.
Ethan is currently a Grade 9 student of St. Scholastica’s Academy and a resident of Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, it said.
The accomplishment of Ethan Jervy Dayne Chavez serves as an inspiration for other young athletes to emulate, the resolution added.*
