Bacolod SP lauds member for NMYL post

• CHRYSEE G. SAMILLANO

A resolution commending and congratulating fellow Sangguniang member, Jason Isidro Villarosa, for being elected as national public relations officer of the National Movement of Young Legislators, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Tuesday.

Authored by Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, the resolution said the National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL) is an organization composed of elected local government officials in the Philippines aged 40 years or younger, including municipal and city councilors, vice mayors, provincial board members, and vice governors.

On February 23 to 25, the NMYL held its annual national convention at the historic Manila Hotel, during which the new set of national officers were elected, it said.

Councilor Jason Isidro Villarosa filed his candidacy for the position of national public relations officer and was elected after garnering sufficient votes, the resolution said.

The local government of Bacolod and the whole Negros Island Region are one in the first of many momentous occasions where a national post was won by a local of Bacolod City and at the same time who will now represent the Negros Island Region, it said.*
