The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod passed a resolution yesterday ratifying the joint venture agreement between the City Government of Bacolod, represented by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, and WRS Holding, Inc., and Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc., both represented by William Russell Schierman, Jr., chairman and CEO, respectively.
The JVA involves a public-private partnership project: Bacolod Housing Project. It covers the financing, design, construction, operation and development of a mixed-use integrated infrastructure for housing and sustainable community in Bacolod City.
Benitez said the project will be one of the first PPP agreement to be entered into by a local government for the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The Scheirman consortium will build an initial set of Asenso Yuhum Housing Units, numbering around 10,000, at the city relocation site in Brgy. Vista Alegre, and on the city’s property in BREDCO, with a commitment to build another set of 10,000 units as additional land is made available by the city government.*
