The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has requested the managers of the Bacolod City Water District and PrimeWater to submit an explanation letter to the SP regarding the causes of inadequate water supply and brown colored water being experienced by their consumers.
The resolution authored by Councilor Israel Salanga also requested Baciwa general manager Mona Dia Jardin and Primewater branch manager Jenny Monteclaro to include in their report their plans and the actions done to address the problems.
BACIWA-PrimeWater Bacolod City is a joint venture between BACIWA and Primewater, to provide potable, reliable, and sustainable water supply and services to its service areas, the resolution added.
Numerous complaints of inadequate water supply and brown colored water, raised by consumers of BACIWA-PrimeWater, have been brought to his attention. Likewise, it has been observed that the aforesaid problems were frequently posted online through social media by consumers, the resolution said.
It is important to address immediately, promptly and efficiently the above-mentioned problems raised by the consumers of BACIWA-PrimeWater to achieve its goal of providing potable, reliable and sustainable water supply to the residents of Bacolod City, it concluded.*
