A 22-year-old student was busted along with P142,800 worth of suspected shabu weighing 21 grams, on Monday during a police operation in Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
The suspect, identified by the alias ‘Mak,’ is a resident of the area and was taken into custody following the buy-bust transaction.
Recovered were one sachet of suspected shabu used in the transaction, three additional sachets found in the suspect’s possession, and P500 in marked buy-bust money.
The operation was conducted by intelligence operatives of Police Station 2 under the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) at Purok Sigay.
According to reports, the arrest followed surveillance and casing operations initiated after the authorities received information regarding illegal drug sales in the area.
The suspect is currently held at the Bacolod City Police Office Station 2 and faces charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
