Bacolod teachers, cops, firemen to receive allowances

Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya yesterday signed the release of allowances for local public school teachers, Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, a press release from the Bacolod City Communications Office said.

It notes that the mayor recognizes the critical roles these groups play in community safety and education.

Allowance disbursement details include – P2,200 monthly Emergency Cost of Living Allowance (ECOLA) for 3,860 public school teachers (covering April to June); and P1,500 allowance for June each for 1,023 PNP and 124 Bureau of Fire Protection BFP personnel.

The local government’s support aims to ease the financial burden on these essential workers and uniformed personnel while reinforcing their morale and capacity to serve.

The total disbursement allowance amounts to P9,440,500.00 and is scheduled for release next week.*
