Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya has announced that the city’s Senior Citizen Center is expected to be fully operational by June, with construction near the Bacolod City Government Center slated for completion by the end of May.
The opening fulfills Executive Order No. 1, which the mayor issued at the start of his term, to establish a dedicated facility for the health and social needs of the elderly.
The center will function under the supervision of the City Mayor’s Office, in coordination with the Department of Social Services and Development and the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs.
To support its daily operations, the city government has committed to providing an in-house pharmacy, free medical check-ups, and a designated budget for personnel and maintenance.
The facility is intended to streamline the delivery of services and provide consistent support to the city’s senior population.*
