Bacolod tops WV in National Vax Drive

Bacolod City registered a new record after topping the third leg of the National Vaccination Drive in Western Visayas with the highest number of vaccinees percentage wise.

The city also jabbed the greatest number of minors at 539 on Day One of the 5 to11 vaccination roll out on February 14, Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy director of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force said.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor, Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Office, said the EOC-TF and the local COVID-19 Vaccination Council achieved a 66.98 percent accomplishment rate by inoculating 22,949 Bacolodnons during the period starting February 9 until February 15.

The figure, he added, brings the team closer to the 34,265 target set by the Department of Health VI.

Coming in second in the Western Visayas ranking is Capiz with a 54.70 percent accomplishment record, followed by Negros Occidental, 43.34 percent; Iloilo Province, 37.43 percent; Aklan, 33.62 percent; Antique, 31.61 percent; Guimaras, 28.69 percent and Iloilo City with 20.09 percent.*
