Bacolod Tourism Council meets

The Bacolod City Tourism Council convened for its quarterly meeting to solidify its vision for the future of tourism, officially endorsing the 2024-2028 Tourism Development Plan for adoption and approval by the City Development Council and the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The plan serves as a blueprint for transforming Bacolod into a premier travel destination, emphasizing sustainable tourism, cultural preservation, and economic growth. Discussions during the meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing the overall visitor experience, preserving the city’s environment and heritage, and strengthening its digital presence to attract both global and domestic travelers.

According to a press release, key initiatives outlined in the plan include improving transportation and tourism-related infrastructure, developing new attractions, and promoting collaborations between local government units, private stakeholders, and the community. By addressing these priorities, the council aims to create a tourism ecosystem that is not only competitive but also inclusive and environmentally responsible.

The Tourism Development Plan also highlights Bacolod’s unique culture and traditions, ensuring these are celebrated and preserved for future generations while contributing to economic prosperity. By positioning tourism as a catalyst for sustainable growth, Bacolod aims to attract investments, generate employment, and uplift the local community.

Joining the meeting were Chief Tourism Operations Officer Teresa Manalili, presiding officer STTM Marty Go, City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) head Mary Jean Ramos, and other stakeholders and council members from different sectors.*
