The Bacolod City Tourism Office successfully convened the first Alliance Meeting for Mabuhay Accommodation Establishments Tuesday at 11th Street Bed and Breakfast.
The meeting was facilitated by Chief Tourism Operations Officer Ma. Teresa Manalili, together with the Tourism Operations Officers of the city.
According to a press release, the gathering marked a milestone in uniting accredited accommodation providers in Bacolod under the Mabuhay Accommodation initiative. The meeting served as a platform to introduce the alliance and foster stronger collaboration among the city’s lodging establishments.
Key updates were presented during the meeting, including upcoming cultural activities, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events, DOT accreditation requirements and guidelines, and the city’s long-term plans for tourism development. Discussions also highlighted the vital role of quality service and guest experience in shaping Bacolod’s identity as a top-tier travel destination.
The alliance aims to empower member establishments through collective initiatives, knowledge-sharing and capacity-building. It also supports the vision of building a more resilient and inclusive tourism sector.
It was the first official meeting under the Mabuhay Accommodation initiative. The next meeting is scheduled on July 16, where participating establishments will hold their election of officers to formalize the structure of the alliance.
In April this year, a set of officers was also formed under the Hotel Alliance of Bacolod, a separate but complementary group that seeks to further strengthen unity among tourism accommodation providers in the city.*
