The Bacolod City Legal Office (CLO) has officially issued a Show Cause Order against the owners of closed vans caught illegally dumping waste along the circumferential road in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.
According to CLO Spokesperson Atty. Vanessa Encabo, the investigations conducted through the Land Transportation Office revealed that the registered owners are residents of Iloilo and Pampanga, though authorities have yet to determine if the vehicles have since been sold to other parties.
The Business Permits and Licensing Office confirmed that the individuals involved hold no registered business interests within Bacolod City.
Encabo admitted that holding the owners accountable presents a significant logistical challenge for the city due to their locations outside the region, noting that personal delivery of the order may be required.
The legal proceedings stemmed from two separate incidents on January 8 and 26, where the vans were documented dumping various debris and tree cuttings in the area.*
