The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod requested the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO), Bacolod Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and City Health Office (CHO), through the Office of the Mayor, to organize, equip, and prepare the city’s COVID-19 isolation and testing facilities in preparation for the rising COVID-19 cases in the City of Bacolod.

The resolution authored by Councilor Claudio Puentevella said that on April 21, the Emergency Operations task force reported that Bacolod City has a total of 17 active COVID-19 cases.

In order to prevent widespread transmission and to provide supportive care to patients infected by COVID-19, the City of Bacolod must equip, prepare and organize its designated COVID-19 facility, it said.

Early preparation and organization of Bacolod City’s COVID-19 isolation facilities can help mitigate and control transmission of COVID-19 and mitigate adverse health effects that can be inflicted by the disease to patients, the resolution added.*
