The Local Economic Investment Promotions Office has suggested that the schedule of the Bacolod Business and Investments Week in the city be moved to November instead of the original September schedule.

The suggestion was raised by Jonah Javier of the LEIPO during a public hearing on the Ordinance amending sections 4 and 9 of City Ordinance No. 08-15-725 or The Bacolod Business and Investments Week Ordinance authored by Councilor Em Ang.

Javier pointed out during the public hearing, that the month of September, which is the original date of the Bacolod Business and Investments Week as per C.O. 08-15-725, is already packed with events such as The Tourism Week and Negros Trade Fair which are being celebrated/participated in by the city each year.

She said November is the best month to hold the above-mentioned event since the city has only one event in November which is the Diwali Festival.

The stakeholders in attendance agreed that the proposed amendatory ordinance will be very helpful in the smooth implementation of the Bacolod Business and Investments Week.*
