The Bago City Information and Public Affairs Office bagged the Third Place Best Facebook Page award and special citation as Best Newspaper for its “Ang Bagonhon Subong” publication during the Western Visayas Information Officers Regional Summit held at District 21 Hotel in Iloilo City Thursday, December 12, a press release from Bago PIO said.
The office manages The Citybridge, the official Facebook Page of the City Government of Bago, while “Ang Bagonhon Subong” is its official community newspaper.
Bago City was also recognized for “championing timely, accurate, relevant and truthful information and for building strong grassroots communication” through organizing, establishing and institutionalizing the first Barangay Information Officers Network (BION) in Negros Occidental.
The accolades were received by Information III Ace Balboa from Philippine Information Agency – Western Visayas led by Regional Head EnP Cheryl Amor, Deputy Regional Head Easter Anne Doza, Karelyn Sumagaysay of Negros Occidental Information Center and Assistant Director-General for Organizational Development and International Affairs Atty.
