BY ADRIAN P. NEMES III

Two men robbed and mauled a councilor of Bago City, Negros Occidental, in a lodge in Brgy. 6, Bacolod City Wednesday, Station 2 deputy commander, P/Capt. Andy Ofalia, said yesterday.

Aside from robbing Councilor Cleo Gaudite, the suspects also took his red Mitsubishi Mirage GLX 2016, with plate FAA7738, Ofalia said.

Gaudite told the police that he was driving along 18th-Lacson Streets, Bacolod at about 3:45 p.m. when the suspects flagged him.

One of the suspects reportedly threatened him with an ice pick and ordered him to drive going to the lodge, that the police did not name, where they mauled and robbed him.

Gaudite identified one of the suspects as “alias Jun”, whom he described to be about 5 feet and 4 inches tall, while his unidentified companion is about 5 feet and 6 inches tall.

The suspects, who were both wearing bull caps and face masks, took the cellular phone of Gaudite, valued at P50,000, and P7,000 in cash, police records showed.

Ofalia said Gaudite failed to report the incident immediately because he needed to have his injuries treated.

He added that Gaudite sustained hematoma in the head and lacerations in the ears.

Station 2 operatives will ask Gaudite to check their Rogue’s Gallery for the possible identification of the suspects.

Police operation is also underway to recover his vehicle.

The DAILY STAR tried to look for Gaudite’s contact details for comment, but to no avail.
