Nine brand new emergency vehicles will be visible on the streets of Bago after the city government turned over the second batch of double cab dropside vehicles for the use of eight barangays and its traffic office.
Funded by the city government, the distribution of the vehicles to the second set of barangays in the Bago is part of upgrading their capacity in disaster preparedness and responses, a press release from the city said.
Each emergency rescue vehicle costs P1.448 million and the city government spent P13 million for the acquisition of the vehicles.
The recipients include barangays Sagasa, Malingin, Ma-ao, Abuanan, Calumangan, Atipuluan, Mailum, and Busay, and the Traffic Management Office.
The recipient barangays and office were represented by their village chiefs and officials during the ceremonial turnover on June 22 at the City Hall grounds, attended by Mayor Nicholas Yulo, Vice Mayor Ramon Torres, councilors Andrew Martin Torres and Victor Michael Javellana, Poblacion kagawad Patrick Torres, and General Services officer, Engr. Leo Pahilanga.
On September 14, 2020, the city acquired the first eight vehicles for the first batch of recipients, while the remaining barangays will be given theirs within this year, the city government said.*
