The city government of Bago, under the administration of Mayor Mayette Javellana, brought various government services closer to Bagonhons, this time in the upland barangays, a press release from Bago PIO said.

The seventh Asenso Bago Serbisyo Caravan was held at the Barangay Mailum Covered Court on February 28.

Hundreds of residents from Mailum and other nearby upland barangays, including Ilijan and Binubuhan, availed the services from local, provincial and national government institutions as well as those from partners in the private sector.

These included the City Mayor’s Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Primary Care Facility, Local Civil Registrar, Office of the City Agriculturist, City Environment Management Office, Population and Development Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, Philippine Statistics Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Army, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Other partners from the government included the Office of the Vice President (OVP), Office of Congressman Jeffrey Ferrer, Office of Vice Governor Jose Benito Alonso, and Office of Board Member Paula Alonso.

The OVP provided wheelchairs to four beneficiaries, and five-kilogram rice to each of the 200 residents.

From the private sector, the Sigabong Bago Eagles Club provided snacks, while Jo Ja Cares headed by Dr. Jose Javellana conducted free Bukol Screening for the residents.

Javellana, in her message, thanked all the partners for their continued support to the Asenso Bago Serbisyo Caravan initiative of the city government which aims to bring services closer to the people.

“I only have one dream and that is to make you feel that your government cares for you, that you have a government to rely on, and that your government and its services are within your reach,” she added.

Meanwhile, Councilor Robert Javellana was also present during the activity that brought together at least 50 services.

Since August last year, the city government has brought the Asenso Bago Serbisyo Caravan to Barangays Dulao, Don Jorge Araneta, Ma-ao, Taloc, Lag-asan, and Malingin.*
