A group exhibition titled “Sidlakdalum,” featuring the works of 24 Negrense artists opened at Edge Water Seafood Restaurant and Bar in Barangay Balaring, Silay City, Negros Occidental on May 23 and will run for a month.
Guests of honor at the opening were Balaring Barangay Captain Remy Roldan, restaurant owner Aileen Boteros-Calvo, Levie Boteros, and Balaring Kagawad Veronica Boteros.
The word “Sidlakdalum” carries the image of light piercing through the darkest parts of the ocean. It is something like a hint of hope within darkness and mystery, the artist’s statement said.
The featured artists are Agustin Chavez, Alain and Alden Macazar, Alfred Esparcia, Boyet Purano, Chucks Ybañes, Dynalyn Tan, Esther Palomata, Gani Lacson, Rose Jemino, Roseller Fernandez, Gillan Agua, Jimboy Setia, Joemel Magno, Jorge Cape, Jun Kho, Luxe Lacson, Mei Lonasco, Chrysee Samillano, Patricia Larayos, Raul Magpayo, Roanna Ruperto, Vaughn Fennel Gracias, and Wilfredo Roquim.*
