Bacolod artist Bamboo Tonogbanua will be opening to visitors his miniature Christmas Village at his ancestral home along San Juan-San Sebastian, streets, Bacolod City from December 16 until the end of the month.
Tonogbanua hosted a small dinner party on December 1 for his friends to have a glimpse of the Christmas Village which he started about 30 years ago.
Being inspired by Christmas cards bearing Santa Claus, snow-covered homes, and other holiday scenes, he started collecting miniature pieces from his travels abroad, he said, adding that some of the miniature objects in his village were later given by friends, also from their travels.
His Christmas Village now features scenes from different countries including nativity scenes, a circus village, Chinatown, artists’ village, a zoo, and many more.*
