Negrense artist Ramon De los Santos opened his solo art exhibit titled “Bata Bata” at the Artful Gallery Cafè and Workshop Studio at Lacson-18th streets, Bacolod City Wednesday that will run until September 30.

De los Santos is a gifted painter from Talisay who specializes in the bas relief technique in most of his artworks.

His show features colorful terra cotta sculptures of Filipino children with his trademark big feet and hands, as well as big heads and eyes.

His art pieces, which include terra cotta bas relief on acrylic-painted canvas, revolve around the life of Filipino children at play.

Some children are being portrayed playing with kites, riding a cart pulled by a carabao, or engaging in cockfighting, while girls are shown playing with dolls.

De los Santos is a member of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros and other art groups in Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, Artful is an art collective managed and run by artists Dr. Orlando Canlas, Tey Sevilleno, and Bethoven Tiano.*
