BCGC opening as two offices, 593 households on lockdown

The Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) will be open today while two of its offices will be temporarily closed for disinfection and decontamination.

The Public Affairs and Assistance Division (PAAD) and Room 1 of the City Health Office (CHO) will be temporarily closed starting today until August 23, while the Human Resource Management Services Office will be temporarily closed starting today until August 24.

Room 1 is the Out-Patient Department and Non-Infectious Consultation office that caters to consultation, animal bites and immunization.

Those who need consultation may proceed to the Bacolod Respiratory Outpatient (BRO) Center at the Bacolod Arts Youth, and Sports Center (BAYS Center).

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia ordered the BCGC temporarily closed for disinfection and preventive decontamination from August 10 to 15 after two employees of the Land Tax Division succumbed to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and six other employees tested positive for the virus.

Meanwhile, about 593 households in different barangays in Bacolod City have been placed under lockdown as of Friday, based on CHO records.

Barangay 27 has the highest number of households in six puroks placed under lockdown with 111, followed by Brgy. Singcang with 85 households, Brgy. 18 with 65; Brgy. Taculing with 62 and Brgy. Tangub with 46.

Other barangays with puroks and subdivisions that have been sealed off are Barangays Alijis with 10 households, Banago – 20, Bata – 1, Estefania – 15, Granada – 2, Handumanan – 6, Mansilingan – 6, Mandalagan – 6, Montevista – 1, Pahanocoy – 8, Punta-Taytay -5, Sum-ag – 7, Villamonte – 10, Vista Alegre – 17, Brgy. 2 – 38, Brgy. 4 – 14, Brgy. 7 – 3, Brgy. 13 – 30, Brgy. 14 – 7, Brgy. 17 – 1, Brgy. 26 – 10, Brgy. 31 – 5, Brgy. 35 – 1, and Brgy. 36 -1 household.

Ealier, Barangay Captain Madeline Diaz of Brgy. 18 had said that 11 households were placed under lockdown in their barangay.*
