The Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) of the Bacolod City Government has implemented curfew hours for minors on the premises of the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) starting March 31.
POSO head retired police Gen. Primitivo Tabujara Jr. yesterday said they imposed curfew hours for minors from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., after receiving complaints that the BCGC premises is no longer safe for domestic and foreign visitors.
Tabujara said they invited parents to request them not to allow their minor children to go out after 10 p.m. They will be allowed to out at night only if accompanied by their parents and for a purpose.
In order to improve peace and order around the BCGC premises, they have established outposts and strengthened roving patrols at the fountain area and at the back of the facility, he said.
They have identified the minors who are usually engaged in trouble, to be coming from Purok Sunrise in Brgy. Taculing and also Banago. The bladed weapon recovered at the BCGC last Friday belonged to a minor from Purok Chavez, Brgy Villamonte, Tabujara said.
They are also planning to later expand the curfew hours for minors to the Bacolod Public Plaza and City Hall areas, he said.
Tabujara said minors caught violating the curfew ordinance will be brought to the POSO and will be turned over by the police to their parents or guardians. The apprehended minor’s parents or guardians will be reprimanded for their violation.*
