BCPO chief issues ultimatum for performance

• THERESA MAE DULMAN

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director PCol. Eugene Rebadomia has issued a stern warning to police station chiefs, stating they could face replacement if they fail to produce weekly accomplishments.

The city director emphasized that every station is expected to deliver consistent results each week as per instruction by the Regional Director, specifically regarding drug buy-bust operations and the arrest of wanted persons.

Rebadomia noted that many officers in the region and city headquarters are eager to serve as station commanders, who want to prove themselves in public.

“We have 59 police commission officers, and we are placing them in an ‘officer-in-charge’ capacity to man the stations. They have to prove that they are more than capable of handling the situation and the challenge,” Rebadomia said.

He added that officers who fail to meet these performance standards will be transferred to the BCPO headquarters.

While Rebadomia admitted that the city is currently facing a shortage of police personnel, he maintained that there is a sufficient number of skilled officers available to focus on investigating and solving various crime cases in Bacolod.*
