A resolution commending the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) through Police Director Col. Thomas Joseph Martir, for their active participation and exemplary efforts in the maintenance of peace and order during the celebration of the 43rd MassKara Festival, was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod yesterday.
The resolution authored by Councilor Em Ang said the celebration of the 43rd MassKara Festival on October 1 to 23 was successful without major security issues because of the exemplary effort of the BCPO headed by Martir.
A total of 1,200 police officers were deployed as part of the security officers to secure the festival sites during the highlights of the MassKara Festival, it said.
The SP also thanked and commended all the barangays that participated in the MassKara Streetdance and Arena Competition and Electric MassKara Parade and Dance-Off during the highlights celebration of the MassKara Festival from Oct. 1 to 23.
The resolution authored by Ang and Councilor Lady Gles Pallen said the invaluable contribution of the participating barangays marked the success of the MassKara Festival celebration thus, it is just fitting for them to be given due recognition.
Meanwhile, the SP thanked and commended the Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental – Bacolod City Chapter for its valuable efforts in providing first aid and other frontline health services to participants and festival goers in various festival sites and activities during the MassKara Festival.*
