The Bacolod City Police Office recently launched its own mobile BARANGAYanihan, inspired by the community pantries set up in different areas of the city, its spokesperson, P/Lt. Liberty Indiape, said yesterday.
As of April 27, the BCPO led by city police director, P/Col. Manuel Placido, was able to distribute 86 food packs and health kits to the families of PNP personnel who are on quarantine, after they tested positive for Covid-19, Indiape said.
She said the activity is a project of the PNP organization all over the country and is aimed at helping those greatly affected by the pandemic.
The BCPO BARANGAYanihan was also set up in all police stations in Bacolod, with food stalls established and supported by stakeholders.
Meanwhile, the concreting of the BCPO parade grounds, sponsored by Jerry Sy, owner and proprietor of Silver Dragon Construction Inc., is almost completed, Indiape said. She said the improved facilities will result in better police service, as both the police and the clients and stakeholders will be inspired, feel dignified, and fairly treated while transacting business at the BCPO.*
