The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Bacolod City Police Office are hiring additional non-uniformed personnel for various police stations.

During the qualifying examinations held on May 22 and 23, some 153 applicants aimed for vacant positions under the NOCPPO, and 70 under the BCPO.

“We assure the applicants that only the best and the most qualified will be chosen for the positions,” Col. Romy Palgue, police provincial director, said in a statement yesterday.

He cited the statement of Philippine National Police chief, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, during his inauguration stressing that “Walang palakasan (No patronage system). Only the best for the PNP. Only the best for the Filipino people”.

For the current hiring, the NOCPPO has 15 vacant positions while the BCPO has three.

The two-day qualifying examinations, held at the NOCPPO Kapanalig Hall in Camp Afredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, were organized for five batches of applicants to ensure the strict observance of minimum health protocols, especially on social distancing.

Three batches took the test on Saturday and the other two on Sunday.

The facilitators included four NUPs, who are members of the Human Resource Merit, Promotion and Selection Board of the Police Regional Office-Western Visayas, and one lead examiner from the Iloilo city government.*PNA
