The week-long relentless anti-drug operations of the Bacolod City Police Office during the period of November 14 to 20, led to the arrest of five more drug suspects and the confiscation of 85.5 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P581,800.

In a statement, BCPO spokesman, PLt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, reported that charges for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, were filed against the arrested drug personalities who are now locked up in jail.

On the other hand, two drug suspects were also arrested by the police on November 21 in separate buy bust operations in the Negros Occidental cities of Silay and Bago.

The apprehension of Edgardo Cuayson, a 51-year-old laborer, at Purok Paraiso in Brgy. Taloc, Bago City, yielded 1.1 gram of suspected shabu with a market value of P7,480, a caliber .22 revolver with five live ammunition and P500 in marked money.

The arrest of Ariel Abellar in another buy bust operation at St. Francis Subdivision in Brgy. 4, Silay City, yielded an estimated nine grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P61,200 and P1,200 in marked money, a police report said.

Meanwhile, the BCPO also arrested nine fugitives with pending arrest warrants, from Nov. 14 to 20.

In the campaign against loose firearms, BCPO also recovered an unlicensed gun, while an explosive was surrendered.

Three illegal gambling violators have also been arrested.*
