Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya appealed to the city’s health service frontliners to exercise greater patience and professionalism when serving the public.
The call comes in the wake of show-cause orders (SCO) issued against two female physicians from the Bacolod City Health Office due to alleged misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a public servant.
According to the reports, one Medical Officer was issued an SCO for allegedly using demeaning and offensive language, while the other one is facing disciplinary measures following a formal complaint from a patient’s mother over insensitive and humiliating behavior toward a rape victim in a public setting.
He urged medical personnel to remain compassionate and composed, especially when dealing with vulnerable residents seeking government assistance.
Gasataya assured frontliners that the city remains committed to providing their benefits, including the timely release of their allowances.
He confirmed that approximately P75- P80 million has been allocated for health workers, barangay staff, and city employees.
The mayor said the funds are being fast-tracked for release before the Holy Week break to ensure workers feel the city’s full support.*
