Bacolod native Mimie Yap made history on December 8, when she was crowned as the inaugural Miss Celestial Philippines in Okada, Manila. Her inspiring journey exemplifies how entrepreneurship with confidence can shine brightly in the world of beauty and beyond.
As the owner of EGY Aesthetic & Medical Spa in Bacolod City, Yap has dedicated years to helping others enhance their natural beauty through wellness and aesthetic treatments. Little did she know that her unwavering commitment to her craft would lead her to claim the very first Miss Celestial Philippines crown, a beauty pageant created specifically for beauty care entrepreneurs.
Yap’s experience in the industry has taught her that true beauty extends far beyond physical appearance. Her journey to the crown was marked by poise, confidence, and her message.
Among 16 candidates from across the Philippines, Yap stood out.
The defining moment came when she was asked, “What is timeless beauty?” Her response was “Timeless beauty is rooted in self-acceptance and confidence.” Her heartfelt answer earned the symbolic crown to remain on her head wherever she goes.
Her transformation from a local spa owner to a national beauty queen underscores how passion and confidence can open doors to new opportunities. With her new platform, Yap aims to inspire women to prioritize self-care, foster community partnerships, and promote personal growth.
Yap is also dedicated to nurturing the next generation of beauty queens through mentorship, training, and motivational talks focused on personality development.
Her journey to the crown was inspired by her desire to give back to her community, an effort she credits to institutions like Power House School of Talents, which provided her with the guidance and skills needed to succeed.
Following her victory, Yap paid a courtesy visit to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, where she expressed her plans to conduct personality development workshops for aspiring beauty queens, including candidates of Lin-ay sang Negros in the upcoming Pana-ad sa Negros festival in 2026.
Through her dedication to mentorship and community service, Yap envisions a future where beauty queens are not only admired for their appearance but are also celebrated for their compassion, confidence, and leadership.
Looking ahead, the Miss Celestial pageant is slated to become an international competition next year, providing a platform to showcase the talents and beauty of entrepreneurs from around the world.*
