Beer na Beer makes winning a habit

In the game between Beer na Beer and Pascual Greek Style, the latter team came into the contest in solid form, heading to a 25-21 lead through the first quarter.

However, the Greeks were outscored 31-18, which erased the deficit and allowed Beer na Beer to take the lead at the break, 52-43. 

Beer na Beer kept the pressure and managed to increase their lead entering the final frame, 74-54. The Greeks put up a solid fight in the fourth, outscoring the Beers 38-21, but it was not enough to pull off a complete comeback as Beer na Beer held on for the 95-92 win.

Michael Deocadiz led Beer na Beer with 27 points, followed by Kendrick Deloria with 19 and to with player of the game honors, as Dirk Dongon and Harry Chua tallied 11 and 7 points, respectively. Harvey Eslawa paced the Pascual Greek Style with 35 points, Harry Siendo compiled 22 points, and Michael Calibo registered 17 points.

In the other game, Summit went against Tiger Black, which started slow, with the first quarter ending tied at 17. Tiger Black came out strong in the second quarter to lead, 47-41, going into halftime. 

The Summit found their answers in the third, as they managed to outwit the Tigers to go up by ten as the game entered the final frame. The Tigers did not back down and mounted an incredible fight through the fourth, but were eventually unable to take the upper hand in the final minutes and remained winningless as the game ended 80-77, in favor of Summit.

Edward Baniel led the Summit with 25 points and player of the game honors, Archie Moreno notched 16 points, followed by Jun Taganile with 12 points. Meanwhile, Edgar Agana led the Tiger Black with 22 points, Julius Teruel recorded 12, while Beejay Paredes and Adonis Rosales followed with 9 points each.*
