Bacolod Lone District Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Tuesday officially took his oath as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, expressing gratitude to fellow legislators and reaffirming a commitment to public service and nation-building.
In a statement, Benitez thanked House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III and members of the House for the trust and confidence bestowed upon the leadership role.
“I accept this role not only as a privilege, but as an opportunity to serve more meaningfully and help shape policies that uplift communities across the Visayas and the entire country,” the Bacolod lawmaker said.
Benitez, a convenor of the 40-strong Visayan block emphasized a commitment to listening to the needs of the people, working closely with colleagues in government, and delivering programs and legislation that would benefit communities nationwide.
He also underscored the importance of strengthening public trust in government institutions through responsive and accountable leadership.
The oath-taking marks another leadership development in the House of Representatives as Benitez continues to push for measures aimed at economic growth, regional development, and improved public service delivery.*
