The Provincial Council for Women and Provincial Committee Against Trafficking, Child Pornography and Violence Against Women and Children honored 13 winners and finalists in the search for Best Barangay VAW desks and officers in Negros Occidental yesterday.
The awardees were Brgy. Aguisan in Himamaylan City, Brgy. Napoles – Bago, Brgy. 9 – Kabankalan, Brgy. Cabatangan – Talisay, Brgy. Magsaysay – Cadiz, Brgy. 13 – Victorias, Brgy. 2 Poblacion in Cauayan, Brgy. 1 Poblacion – Isabela, Brgy. Culipapa – Hinobaan, Canroma in Pontevedra, Brgy. 2-A in Manapla, Minoyan, Murcia, and Brgy. Patun-an in Calatrava.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and PCW chairperson Andrea Si led the distribution of awards, assisted by Consuelo Janice Carmona and kagawad Armi Velasco. Before the awarding ceremony held at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City, a lecture on criminal procedure was conducted by Si, that was attended by Board Member Rita Gatuslao, Kabankalan City Councilor Helen Zafra, and Board Member Juvy Pepello, chairwoman of the Association of Barangay Captains in Negros Occidental.*
