The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of San Carlos City conducted a fire drill at the Congressman Vicente Gustilo Sr. Memorial School (CVGSMS) in Brgy. VI on October 24.

A total of 680 students participated in the fire drill.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Julius Jovia, deputy fire marshal of San Carlos City, said that they held the fire drill for the awareness of students in case a fire broke out.

He added that they are aiming to conduct fire drills in four schools each month.

Jovia also advised netizens to double-check and make sure that all the switches are off, electrical wires unplugged and the LPG tank is off before leaving the house.

Jovia thanked City Mayor Renato Gustilo for the support, and also the district supervisor for recognizing that all schools must undergo a fire drill by the BFP to teach students the proper way of handling the situation. He also thanked all the teachers for their cooperation and support.

Principal Jose Junjun Andebor of the CVGSMS said that conducting a fire drill in their school is a big help since they have issues with the evacuation process considering that the small area of their school.

Andebor thanked BFP for their initiative in conducting the said activity in their school. He also thanked the local government for paying attention and showing concern for their students and personnel.

FO3 Joseph Earl Solivio, FO2 Eduardo Parcon Jr., and FO1 Noriel Castor were also present during the event.*
