About 56 participants mostly comprising women participated in the recently conducted livelihood program of the Bureau of Fire Protection – Silay City Fire Station and Barangay Mambulac in Silay City at the barangay’s training center in Sitio Dacutan Dacu, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City on March 10, a press release from the BFP-Silay said.
The livelihood program enables participants to acquire basic knowledge on how to make arts and crafts from polymer clay.
The innovative approach aims to raise awareness and to support the community, especially its women residents, in celebration of International Women’s Month, an empowering celebration for strong females who endure struggles gracefully with their resilience to make the world a better place to live in.
The program provided valuable skills to local participants, allowing them to learn the art of polymer clay crafting, while also emphasizing the importance of fire safety in every creative piece.
Throughout the program, fire safety tips were shared, underscoring how vital it is to stay safe while engaging in creative activities.
Fire Prevention Month, in celebration of the 4th BFP Community Relations Week (COMRES 4), with the theme “Sa Pamilyang Nagdadamayan, Sunog ay Naiiwasan.” The program aims to promote mutual care, collective and shared responsibility in building a progressive society by ensuring a fire safety community.
Through the initiative, the Silay City Firefighters and Barangay Mambulac officials demonstrated that fire prevention is not just about fighting fires but also about empowering the community and fostering resilience in all areas of life.
